France Creates New €200 Million Fund to Support Ukraine’s Reconstruction and Euro-Integration

Франція створює ще один фонд на €200 млн для підтримки відновлення та євроінтеграції України.

France has initiated the establishment of another investment fund amounting to €200 million, which will be directed towards financing reconstruction projects in Ukraine and its integration into the European market. This move is a response to the significant interest shown by French companies in the grant program signed for a similar amount last year. Reports indicate that the number of applications for funding from the first fund exceeded the planned volumes by three times, prompting French partners to expand their support.

Support for Infrastructure Projects in Lviv

The French Development Agency (AFD) has allocated €5 million to Lviv for the reconstruction of a section of Mykolaychuk Street near the UNBROKEN center. In addition to updating the road surface, the funds will also be used to prepare the foundation for the construction of a new 2.6 km tram line, which will be an important step in the development of the city’s infrastructure.

Additional Funding from the Government and International Partners

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has allocated ₴22 billion for the implementation of reconstruction projects in the country. Nearly ₴18.5 billion, provided by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), will be directed towards the needs of healthcare, education, the agricultural sector, humanitarian demining, and the restoration of municipal services. About ₴1.4 billion is earmarked for the reconstruction of energy facilities and the training of sappers. An additional nearly ₴2.2 billion in budget support from the European Union will go towards the modernization and reconstruction of port infrastructure.

France is creating a €200 million fund to support projects in Ukraine related to reconstruction and integration with the European market. This has become possible due to the significant attention from French enterprises towards the competition under the grant agreement for €200 million signed last year. The number of applications for participation in funding from the first fund was three times higher than the program had anticipated, leading French partners to expand their funding.
