Impact of Weather Conditions and Retail Price Dynamics

The deterioration of weather conditions in spring 2025, particularly spring frosts, further impacted prices for vegetables and fruits from the new harvest. This became another factor contributing to the rise in food prices for the end consumer.

In May of this year, the average prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages in Ukraine increased by 22.1% compared to the same period last year. The increase occurred across all major product categories, with the most significant rise in egg prices, which soared by 86.0%.
