Increase in Supplies and Key Types of Fertilizers
As of the end of 2025, fertilizer imports to Ukraine totaled 3.285 million tons, while in 2024 this figure was 2.898 million tons. Of this amount, the main types of fertilizers reached 3.058 million tons, indicating a substantial expansion of supplies across nearly all product categories.
“Actual import volumes turned out to be higher than analysts’ expectations. In particular, Ukraine purchased 120,000 tons more fertilizers than forecasted in mid-2025,” the report states.
Carryover Stocks and Domestic Demand
Experts also emphasize that significant carryover stocks have formed for certain critically important groups of fertilizers. At the same time, despite the record increase in imports, the Ukrainian agricultural sector still faces a shortage of resources to fully meet domestic demand.
The report highlights: “In 2025, Ukraine significantly increased its import of mineral fertilizers, but this volume is still insufficient to cover domestic needs.”
