Ukrainian metallurgical companies recorded a 1% decrease in revenue from ferrous metal exports in the first two months of 2026 compared to the same period last year. During this period, exports generated $415.10 million, slightly less than the $419.20 million in January-February 2025.

Share of Ferrous Metals in Export Structure
According to official data from the State Customs Service, ferrous metals accounted for 6.42% of total goods exports in January-February 2026, while last year this figure was 6.67%. In February 2026, export volumes reached $210.24 million, exceeding the January figure of $205.08 million.
Dynamics of Import and Export of Metal Products
In January-February 2026, imports of ferrous metals to Ukraine increased by 6.6%, totaling $243.31 million. In February alone, metal products worth $120.59 million were imported. At the same time, exports of metal products significantly decreased by 25.8%, to $107.37 million in January-February, of which $58.79 million was in February.
During this period, imports of metal products showed a growth of 13.5% — to $156.61 million, with $79.88 million imported in February.

In 2025, Ukrainian metallurgy recorded a 7.85% increase in revenue from ferrous metal exports — to $3.34 billion. The share of ferrous metals in the export structure rose to 8.25%, up from 7.42% in 2024. Imports of ferrous metals in 2025 increased by 12.9% — to $1.67 billion. Exports of metal products decreased by 3% last year — to $916.15 million, while imports of this product rose by 24.4% — to $1.29 billion.
A year earlier, in 2024, revenue from ferrous metal exports increased by 16.9% to $3.1 billion, and imports also rose by 13.1% — to $1.48 billion.
In 2023, Ukraine significantly reduced ferrous metal exports — by 41.6%, to $2.65 billion, and their share in total exports decreased from 10.3% in 2022 to 7.3%. At the same time, imports of similar products increased by 37% — to $1.31 billion. Exports of metal products in 2023 fell by 16.6% — to $877.92 million, while imports rose by 40.3% — to $902.57 million.
