Expected Decrease in Egg Prices in Ukraine by 30% by the End of April

In Ukraine, fluctuations in egg prices are expected in the coming months due to increased demand ahead of Easter. However, after the stabilization of weather conditions, experts predict a decrease in egg prices within the range of 20-30%. This was reported by the Deputy Head of the All-Ukrainian Agricultural Council, Denys Marchuk, in a comment to the media.

This is reported by Finway

According to Marchuk, in 2025, there will be a continued rise in food prices due to various factors, including inflation, natural disasters, and limited domestic harvests. He noted that egg prices significantly increased last autumn, while their growth slowed down in winter. The approach of Easter is expected to lead to a new price increase of about 10%, which is related to the heightened demand for this product.

Factors Influencing Egg Prices

One of the key factors affecting the cost of eggs is the rising prices of poultry feed. Additionally, winter has seen increased costs for keeping hens due to the need for extra heating in poultry facilities. Grain prices remain high, which is associated with the end of the old harvest and the lack of a new one.

Marchuk believes that after stable warm weather sets in and the new harvest begins, egg prices could decrease by 20-30% by the end of April. At the same time, Ukrainians should be prepared for further price increases for a number of other products, such as baked goods, meat, and vegetables for borscht.

Prospects for Price Stabilization

As the summer season approaches and market supply increases, the situation may stabilize, leading to a decrease in prices for some food products. In this context, agricultural producers emphasize the importance of supporting domestic production and optimizing costs for maintaining livestock and poultry, which could help reduce prices for certain categories of products.
