Electricity Consumption in Ukraine Increased by 3.3% Due to Reduced Outages

As of the morning of January 7, Ukraine has recorded a 3.3% increase in electricity consumption. These changes are associated with a decrease in the number of power outages in most regions of the country.

Impact of Attacks and Weather Conditions on the Energy System

Despite the overall improvement in the situation, some regions still face issues with electricity supply. In particular, in the Dnipropetrovsk region, a significant number of consumers were left without power due to a nighttime mass drone attack. In the Odesa region, network restrictions are in place due to the aftermath of previous Russian attacks, and restoration work is ongoing.

Severe weather has also affected energy supply: heavy snow and the accumulation of wet snow have led to partial or complete power outages in 21 settlements in the Zakarpattia region. Consumers in Kyiv Oblast also remain without electricity. Local energy companies are working to restore damaged power lines.

Recommendations for Energy Consumption

Ukrenergo urges citizens across the country to conserve electricity. It is especially important to limit the use of high-power electrical appliances during peak load hours and, if possible, to shift energy-intensive processes to nighttime after 11:00 PM.

“In all regions of Ukraine, there is still a need for energy conservation. Please limit the use of high-power electrical appliances as much as possible. If possible, shift energy-intensive processes to nighttime hours – after 11:00 PM,” advises Ukrenergo.
