From January to August, Ukraine imported 61,700 passenger electric vehicles (BEVs), which is 52% more compared to the same period last year. This dynamic growth indicates an increasing demand for eco-friendly transportation among Ukrainians.

Import Structure: New and Used Electric Vehicles
Of the total volume of imported electric vehicles, new cars accounted for 14,100 units, which is 26% more than last year. A significantly larger share consisted of used electric vehicles – 47,600 units, and this segment grew by 62%.
The total customs value of the imported electric cars reached nearly 1 billion 270 million US dollars. In particular, new electric vehicles accounted for 363.5 million dollars, while used ones accounted for 906.3 million dollars.
Leading Countries in Electric Vehicle Supply
The absolute leader among suppliers of new electric vehicles was the People’s Republic of China – it accounted for 92% of all new electric cars that arrived in Ukraine. At the same time, Japan ranked second with a share of 3%, and Germany ranked third with 2%.
Regarding used electric vehicles, the largest number of such cars was imported from the United States of America – 40% of the total. South Korea came in second (16%), while Germany took third place with 15%.
