Ukrainians’ Preferences: Electric Cars Take Center Stage
According to industry analysts, in November, traditional gasoline and diesel vehicles made up only 45.5% of new passenger car sales. In comparison, this figure was 64.5% in November 2024. Meanwhile, electric cars captured 38.5% of the market, nearly tripling last year’s result of 12.8%.
“Last month, traditional engine vehicles accounted for 45.5% of the new passenger car market, compared to 64.5% last year.”
Gasoline-powered vehicles secured second place in popularity. Their share dropped from 35.5% in 2024 to 28.5% in November 2025. Diesel models also lost ground — from 29% to nearly 17% of the market.
Trends in Segments and Sales Leaders
Hybrid cars accounted for 16% of sales among new passenger vehicles, although a year ago their share reached 22.5%. At the same time, vehicles with gas cylinder equipment (GCE) remain unpopular, holding less than 1% of the market.
- Electric Cars: BYD Leopard 3
- Gasoline Cars: Renault Duster
- Diesel Models: Renault Duster
- Hybrid Cars: Toyota RAV-4
- GCE Vehicles: Hyundai Tucson
Thus, electric cars are gradually becoming the primary choice for Ukrainian consumers, indicating the growing popularity of environmentally friendly transportation and a shift in trends in the country’s automotive market.
