First Tranche for Ukrhydroenergo and Collaboration with International Companies
The first tranche of the loan, amounting to 120 million euros, will be received by the company Ukrhydroenergo. The funds will be directed towards supporting the operational stability and modernization of critical equipment at hydropower plants, which will enhance their reliability and resilience to external influences.
Additionally, an agreement has been reached with the Italian company Webuild regarding participation in the development of the Dniester hydropower complex. The implementation of this project will allow for an increase in the balancing capacities of the Ukrainian energy system, which is particularly relevant given the growing share of renewable energy.
Training Personnel and Implementing International Standards
Separate agreements have been made for collaboration with the German company Voith Hydro. They will be involved in developing modern training programs and retraining personnel, which will enable the introduction of the best international standards in Ukraine’s hydropower sector.
International support not only helps restore damaged infrastructure but also implements long-term solutions for Ukraine’s energy independence and green transition.
The agreements reached are an important step towards strengthening energy security and accelerating the transition to a sustainable and modern energy system in the country.
