Drones attacked Yaroslavl: highway to Moscow closed, transport movement halted

On the night of May 29, the Yaroslavl region of the Russian Federation became the target of a drone attack. Due to the threat of further strikes, the regional authorities decided to temporarily restrict transport movement from Yaroslavl towards Moscow.

Official security measures after the drone attack

As reported by the governor of the Yaroslavl region, Mikhail Evraev, the closure of the highway is justified by the need to ensure the safety of citizens and to prevent possible consequences of further drone attacks. The official made this statement on his Telegram channel around four in the morning.

“In order to ensure safety, transport movement has been closed on the exit from Yaroslavl towards Moscow from the intersection of Moskovsky Avenue with the Southwestern Ring Road.”

He also urged local residents to refrain from traveling on this section of the road and its surroundings, and to use alternative routes if possible. People are encouraged to wait for official announcements regarding the lifting of restrictions.

New strikes on infrastructure and industrial facilities in the Russian Federation

After the attack, local internet users noted that an industrial zone, which houses a large oil refinery, is located in the area of the closed highway in Yaroslavl. However, the authorities have not reported any destruction or other consequences of the nighttime attack.

Additionally, Rosaviatsiya announced a “Carpet” plan at Yaroslavl airport, indicating an increased level of security in air transport.

It is worth noting that on the same night, May 29, a massive drone attack was also recorded in the Volgograd region. There, local authorities confirmed the shelling, and OSINT analysts reported damage to an oil refinery in Volgograd, after which a fire broke out at the site.

We remind you that earlier in May, drones had already attacked Yaroslavl — at that time, the strikes also targeted the local oil refinery.
