Toyota’s Exports to the Middle East Plummeted by Over 90% in April 2026

The Japanese car manufacturer Toyota reported a sharp decline in exports to the Middle East in April 2026. According to official data, car shipments from Japan to this region decreased by 91.7% compared to the same period last year, totaling only 2,418 units. The primary reason for this drop is attributed to the ongoing conflict in the region.

Overall, Toyota’s global sales in April fell by 3.1%, amounting to 849,306 vehicles. This marks the third consecutive month that the company has reported a decline in product sales at the global level.

At the same time, Toyota’s vehicle production worldwide increased by 2%, reaching a record 831,971 units for the month of April. However, sales outside Japan decreased by 7.5% to 699,382 vehicles.

Trends in the American Market and New Lexus Model

A decline in sales was also noted in the U.S. market: in April 2026, the company sold 222,378 vehicles, which is 4.6% less than last year. This occurred despite consistently high demand for hybrid models in North America.
