Drone Attack on Kharkiv: Homes Damaged, Dozens of Residents Affected

In the morning of May 14, Russian forces launched a large-scale attack with strike drones on Kharkiv, affecting several districts of the city. As a result of the shelling, residential buildings, dormitories were damaged, and peaceful residents were injured, including children.

Shevchenkivskyi District: Most Affected

The first strikes from kamikaze drones were recorded around five in the morning. Initially, the Osnovyanskyi district came under fire, and later the attack spread to the Shevchenkivskyi and Saltivskyi districts of the city. According to local authorities, the Shevchenkivskyi district suffered the most — the number of injured reached 14 by morning. Of these, 12 people were hospitalized with blast injuries, and two are in critical condition.

Damage in the Saltivskyi District and Impact on Children

Initially, there were no reports of casualties from the strike on the Saltivskyi district; however, it later became known that nine people were injured, including two children: a 13-year-old girl and an 8-year-old boy. The children experienced acute stress reactions and were provided with necessary medical assistance. As a result of the shelling, seven residential buildings were damaged in this area. According to information from the scene, the drone that attacked Saltivka was equipped with a multi-channel “Kometa” antenna.

Overall, the night of May 14 became one of the largest-scale attacks in recent times for Ukraine: the occupiers launched over 700 aerial targets, including various missiles and strike drones.
