Dollar Exchange Rate Forecast: Analysts Improve Expectations for 2025–2026

Banking experts and financial analysts revised their forecast for the US dollar to Ukrainian hryvnia in October 2025 for the next 12 months, raising it to 44.05 UAH per dollar. This data was obtained based on a survey conducted on the platform of the National Bank of Ukraine.

Current Dynamics of Forecasts

In September 2025, specialists expected the rate to be 44.45 UAH per dollar. Thus, the latest update shows some improvement in forecasts despite overall economic uncertainty. At the same time, the devaluation expectations of the banking sector have also decreased: in October, experts predict a rate of 44.94 UAH per dollar compared to 45.29 UAH in July.

As for expectations among the population, they worsened in September, amounting to 43.75 UAH per dollar, while in August this figure was 43.73 UAH. Business leaders in July 2025 anticipated a rate of 44.11 UAH per dollar, which is also an improvement compared to the May forecast of 43.84 UAH per dollar.

Long-Term Forecasts and IMF Assessments

The International Monetary Fund published an updated forecast for the dollar to hryvnia exchange rate through 2030 in October 2025. According to the Fund’s estimates, the dollar will reach the mark of 50 hryvnias only in 2029.

Experts note that the gradual improvement in forecasts indicates the relative stability of the Ukrainian national currency amid economic challenges. However, the dynamics of the dollar exchange rate remain sensitive to external factors and the overall macroeconomic situation.
