As of April 1, 2025, the total volume of deposits from individuals (including individual entrepreneurs) in Ukrainian banks reached 1.392 trillion UAH. It is noted that most of these deposits are concentrated in state banks. The leader among currencies remains the hryvnia, with deposits amounting to 892.8 billion UAH. This data was published by the Deposit Guarantee Fund of Individuals (FGVFO).

It is worth noting that Ukrainians hold an amount equivalent to 500 billion UAH in foreign currency.
“The share of individual entrepreneurs in the structure of depositors as of April 1, 2025, was 3.2%, while in the structure of the total amount of deposits it was 11.2%. Their total deposits amounted to 156.6 billion UAH,” the statement said.
The research showed that the majority of depositors (57.4%) keep amounts ranging from 10 to 200,000 UAH in banks. At the same time, a significant number of Ukrainians have mini-deposits of up to 10 UAH, accounting for 40.76%. Only 0.54% of depositors hold more than 600,000 UAH in banks, while 0.36% hold between 200,000 and 400,000 UAH.
Among all deposits, 69.68% are demand deposits, which means they can be withdrawn at any moment without prior notice to the bank. In contrast, term deposits exceeding one year account for only 0.9% of the total number.
Trends in Choosing Banks
According to the data, the majority of Ukrainians choose banks in which the state partially participates in the capital – this accounts for 61.82%. Private banks hold 20.51% of the deposit structure, while banks of foreign groups account for 17.67%.
