Deutsche Bank Plans to Launch Cryptocurrency Custody Service in 2026

Technological Partners and Development Strategy

To implement the project, Deutsche Bank is partnering with Bitpanda Technology Solutions — the technology division of the well-known cryptocurrency exchange Bitpanda. The bank also plans to continue its collaboration with the Swiss company Taurus SA, which specializes in implementing solutions for working with digital assets. The involvement of these two leading players will strengthen Deutsche Bank’s position in the cryptocurrency custody market.

Interest in Tokenized Deposits and Stablecoins

Since 2022, Deutsche Bank has been actively exploring the possibilities of integrating digital assets into its own financial infrastructure. Among the potential areas of development are the use of tokenized deposits and stablecoins, as well as options for issuing its own token or participating in industry initiatives related to digital finance.

“In addition, the bank is exploring scenarios for the use of tokenized deposits, as well as the use of stablecoins, issuing its own token, or joining industry initiatives,” the statement said.

It is worth noting that at the end of 2024, Deutsche Bank already launched a pilot project aimed at overcoming regulatory barriers for banks working with public blockchains. This underscores the bank’s systematic approach to implementing innovations in the field of digital assets and its commitment to meeting new market demands.
