Ukraine and Denmark have reached a historic agreement in the defense industry, under which the production of Ukrainian 155-mm self-propelled howitzers “Bohdana” will commence at Danish facilities, as well as various types of unmanned aerial vehicles, loitering munitions, and electronic warfare systems. This joint initiative aims not only to accelerate the supply of modern weapons for the Armed Forces of Ukraine but also to secure production capacities from Russian missile attacks, while simultaneously developing industrial cooperation between Ukraine and Denmark.

Strengthening Europe’s Defense Capabilities
The foundation of this project is a Letter of Intent signed in June. It provides for the allocation of 72 million dollars for the establishment of defense production lines for Ukrainian equipment in Denmark. In July, the initiative was expanded to include the joint production of drones—from tactical reconnaissance to long-range UAVs. Such decentralization of production among partner countries ensures the reliability of supply chains even in the face of constant threats from the Russian Federation.
Industrial Integration and Supply Security
The agreement between Kyiv and Copenhagen is an important step in strengthening the defense potential not only of Ukraine but of all Europe. The production of Ukrainian weapons on Danish territory will enable faster provision of necessary equipment to the Armed Forces of Ukraine and will also contribute to the development of modern technologies and industrial integration between the two countries. Special attention is paid to protecting production capacities from potential attacks, which is extremely relevant for Ukrainian enterprises in wartime conditions.
“This is not just about the defense of Ukraine. It is about strengthening the defense capability of all Europe,” noted Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal.
