“The linguistic examination conducted by the Ministry of Internal Affairs found no signs of incitement to national, racial, religious, or other enmity in my publications.”
The criminal proceedings were initiated in August 2025 following an official appeal from Member of Parliament Oleksiy Honcharenko. The case was classified under Article 161 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which provides for liability for inciting enmity. Law enforcement began a pre-trial investigation regarding possible violations, but later did not confirm any of the allegations made.
Blogger’s Reaction and Consequences for Her Activities
Olena Mandziuk views the initiation of the case as an attempt at discrediting her. According to her, during the investigation, she faced political, financial, and social pressure. The blogger noted that she became a target of online harassment, received threats, encountered blocking of her social media pages, and faced campaigns aimed at terminating cooperation with her. As a result, she estimates that she lost about 90% of her income.
Despite the difficulties, Olena Mandziuk stated her intention to continue her public activities. She plans to continue supporting Ukrainian soldiers, engage in volunteer projects, and develop her own initiatives.
