Details of the court’s decision
As a result of the case review, the court partially granted the lawsuit of the prosecutor of the Special Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office, ordering the confiscation of a house with a land plot and the value of one of the two cars registered in the name of the former official’s wife. It was also established that the couple possesses a significant amount of cash that was acquired during the official’s time in service.
Grounds for confiscation
The National Agency for Prevention of Corruption monitored the lifestyle of the former official and analyzed the financial transactions of his family. During the inspection, it was found that the acquired property, including movable and immovable assets, as well as cash, could not have been obtained from the family’s legal income. Additionally, it was established that the mentioned property was purchased in cash, while the family’s official income was primarily spent cashlessly.
“During the monitoring, authorized representatives of the NAPC established that the former head of the TCC and SP acquired a number of movable and immovable assets, as well as cash, during his tenure.”
In addition to the results of its own monitoring, the NAPC used evidence obtained by the State Bureau of Investigation.
The decision of the High Anti-Corruption Court allows for an appeal — within 30 days from the date of the full text of the decision being drafted.
