Bread Prices in Ukraine Will Gradually Rise

Expert Oleg Pendzin assured that Ukrainians should not panic about bread prices. According to him, the cost of bread in Ukraine will increase, but this will happen gradually, without sharp fluctuations.

This is reported by Finway

In his comments during a broadcast on KYIV24, Pendzin noted that over the next month, prices for mass-produced bread may rise by 1.5-2%.

“This is due to the fact that mass-produced bread is controlled by the state, and bread manufacturers, in order not to hit the wallets of Ukrainians, shift the production costs of such bread onto pastries, cakes, cookies, and premium baked goods within the bakery framework. This way, they ensure a stable price increase of no more than 1.5-1.8% per month,”

– explained the expert.

Pendzin also emphasized that one should not expect a sharp price increase of 10-15% in one month. The rise in cost will be gradual, which eliminates the possibility of queues for bread.

“In April alone, inflation, by rough estimates, was 14.6%,”

– he added.

According to data from the “Minfin” resource, the average price of wheat bread in retail chains currently stands at 43.49 – 44.10 UAH for 600-650 grams.
