Technical Features and Production

The BMW i3 2026 offers impressive autonomy: with a fully charged battery, the car can cover up to 900 km. Additionally, the fast-charging feature allows for a range boost of up to 400 km in just 10 minutes when connected to a charging station. This significantly enhances the convenience of using the electric car for long journeys.

Production of the new BMW i3 will begin this fall. According to the company, to launch the production of electric models in the i3 series, BMW has conducted a large-scale modernization of its factory in Munich. The facility has been adapted to create modern electric vehicles that meet the latest technological standards.

New Models and Company Plans

In addition to the electric version, BMW has also introduced an updated model of the i3 with a hybrid powertrain. The so-called “mild” hybrid combines an internal combustion engine with an electric module but shares the same design as the fully electric version.

“Overall, by next year, BMW plans to offer over 40 new and updated models on its ‘Neue Klasse’ platform, including the i7 series and the X5 SUV.”

Among other things, the company’s portfolio will include updated flagship models such as the BMW i7 and the X5 SUV, which will also be manufactured on the modern ‘Neue Klasse’ platform.

Amid dynamic changes in the industry, other German automakers, including Porsche, are also announcing significant steps to restructure their businesses. Porsche has reported plans for further job cuts following a significant drop in profits in 2025.
