In Germany, diesel fuel has set a new price record, and gasoline has also increased in price

The cost of diesel fuel in Germany has reached an all-time high of 2.327 euros per liter. This exceeds the record set in March 2022 by 0.6 cents.

Record Fuel Prices: Diesel and Gasoline

In addition to diesel, a significant increase has also been recorded for Super E10 gasoline – German drivers are now paying 2.129 euros per liter, the highest figure in a year. Experts note that the rise in diesel fuel prices is due to two main factors: production characteristics and a high dependence on imports. While gasoline is mostly produced and even exported within Europe, diesel is primarily imported in its finished form from abroad.

“New measures from the federal government against high fuel prices have just come into effect – and already the price of diesel has reached a new record: on Wednesday, a liter cost 2.327 euros.”

Geopolitical Factors and Their Impact on the Oil Market

Experts do not rule out further increases in fuel prices. International oil markets reacted sharply with a price surge following a recent speech by U.S. President Donald Trump. The price of Brent crude oil rose by approximately 8%, exceeding the $109 mark. At the same time, the military operation by the U.S. and Israel against Iran has led to disruptions in oil supply from the region and has become an additional factor driving up energy prices worldwide.
