Blueberry Prices in Ukraine Decrease Due to Influx of Medium-Quality Berries

Blueberry prices in the Ukrainian market continue to fall, which is linked to the arrival of large batches of medium and low-quality berries. Currently, blueberries are being sold for 100-180 UAH/kg (equivalent to $2.39-4.31 per kilogram), with the price depending on the quality and size of the batch. The average price level has decreased by 33% compared to the end of last working week.

Reasons for the Decrease in Blueberry Prices

The supply of blueberries from local producers is increasing as the peak harvest period falls in the last decade of July. At the same time, the demand for the berry remains quite high, but the overall volume of blueberries harvested in 2025 has decreased due to unfavorable weather conditions during the growing season.

Significant volumes of medium and low-quality blueberries have appeared on the domestic market that need to be sold quickly, forcing producers to lower prices.

This has led to an increase in the supply of lower-quality berries that must be sold rapidly. To ensure swift sales, producers are reducing prices.

Comparison with Last Year and Supermarket Prices

Despite the price drop in July, the average cost of blueberries in Ukraine is currently 23% higher than during the same period last year. The main reason for the price increase remains unfavorable weather conditions that have affected yields.

In various supermarket chains, the price of blueberries remains significantly higher than in the market. For instance, in ATB, a kilogram of blueberries costs 223.95 UAH, in Varus – 199.90 UAH (with a discount), and in Silpo, the price starts at 224 UAH per kilogram.
