Bitcoin Sets New Price Record Over $125,000 in the Crypto Market

Bitcoin has reached a new all-time high, surpassing the $125,000 mark for the first time. According to TradingView data, at the time of writing, the price of the leading cryptocurrency was $124,951.

Record Growth of Bitcoin and Massive Liquidations

On October 5, 2025, Bitcoin updated its own record, which had stood since July of this year when the price first rose above $122,600. The latest increase in the asset was accompanied by significant liquidations in the futures market: the total amount reached $345.58 million.

Short position holders suffered losses of $220.85 million, while investors holding long positions lost $124.72 million. It is estimated that a total of 118,514 traders experienced liquidations. Bitcoin accounted for $148.4 million in liquidations, while Ethereum saw $45.2 million.

“Due to the rise in the crypto market, liquidations from futures contracts amounted to $345.58 million. Short position holders incurred losses across many assets totaling $220.85 million, while long position holders lost $124.72 million. In total, 118,514 traders recorded losses.”

Market Capitalization and Investor Sentiment

At the time of writing, Bitcoin’s market dominance was 59.26%, and the total market capitalization of cryptocurrencies reached $4.26 trillion. Just in July, the cryptocurrency market first surpassed $4 trillion, nearly matching the market capitalization of technology giant Nvidia.

The Fear and Greed Index in the crypto asset market rose to 58 points, indicating a predominance of greedy sentiment among investors. Over the week, this indicator increased by 21 points.

Analysts from leading firms previously identified the $130,000 level as key for Bitcoin, while experts from JPMorgan Chase predict further growth in the value of the leading cryptocurrency to $165,000 by the end of 2025.
