ArcelorMittal Raises Hot Rolled Coil Prices in Europe to €700 per Ton

The international steel company ArcelorMittal has announced a price increase for hot rolled coil (HRC) in the European market for April deliveries. The cost of one ton of product will rise by €30 to €700, compared to the price of €670 per ton for March deliveries.

New Price Offers for Different Types of Coils

In addition to hot rolled coil, the company has adjusted prices for other types of rolled products. Thus, the price of cold rolled coil for April deliveries will increase to €830 per ton, while the price for hot-dip galvanized coil will rise to €820 per ton.

“Despite the updated price lists, there are currently no contracts signed at the new prices. However, market participants note an improvement in sentiment within the European flat steel sector. Nevertheless, the recent price increase has primarily been driven by changes in trade regulations, particularly the final implementation of CBAM and potential new protective measures, while actual demand remains weak.”

Trends in the European Rolled Products Market

At the beginning of January 2026, hot rolled coil prices in Europe continued to rise gradually. According to representatives of buyers, there has been an increased dependence on European steel mills, as imported products have become less controllable. Meanwhile, as reported by Fastmarkets, current hot rolled coil prices in the region remain below the target levels set by ArcelorMittal: recently concluded contracts in Northern Europe were recorded at €630-640 per ton, franco-factory.
