Pension Payments Based on Work Experience and Salary Level
If the work experience is 40 years and the individual has received an average salary during this entire time, the pension amount in 2025 will increase to 6022.8 UAH. An increase in salary levels leads to a significant rise in pensions: for example, with a salary 50% above the average (27,883 UAH) and 35 years of experience, the pension will amount to 7904.9 UAH. Under the same conditions, but with 40 years of experience, the monthly pension payment will rise to 9034.2 UAH.
Statistics and Pension Amounts in Ukraine
Currently, 10 million 331 thousand people receive pensions in Ukraine. Most of them – nearly 7.5 million – are old-age pensioners. Others receive pensions due to disability, loss of a breadwinner, or have special payments. The highest pensions are awarded to judges: they receive a lifelong monetary allowance, with an average amount exceeding 108 thousand UAH per month.

The formula for calculating pensions in Ukraine takes into account the following parameters: the average salary for the last three years, the number of years of service, the ratio of your salary to the average, and a coefficient of 1% for each year of service. As of 2025, the base for pension calculation is the average salary for the last three years, which amounts to 15,057.09 UAH. Thus, for each year of official service, the pensioner receives 1% of this amount, multiplied by the ratio of their own salary to the average.
