Updated Electric Train with Increased Comfort

The route will feature the modernized EPL9T No. 007 electric train, which has received two classes of comfort following a major overhaul. Key improvements include equipped ramps and inclusive restrooms, designated spaces for passengers in wheelchairs, as well as bike mounts.

The train’s interior is equipped with vending machines offering drinks and snacks. Passengers will enjoy modern individual soft seats with adjustable features, power outlets, and USB ports for charging devices, along with personal tables. There are also mounts for mobile devices for added convenience.

Technical Innovations and Additional Services

A new lighting system has been installed in the train, allowing for a lower level of cabin lighting. Additionally, there is an occupancy indicator for restrooms, a carriage display with route information, spacious luggage racks, and shelves for transporting suitcases.

Ukrzaliznytsia noted that EPL9T No. 007 is already the fifth completely updated train in 2025 and the 42nd since the beginning of the full-scale invasion. The company continues its program for modernizing suburban rolling stock.

“Ukrzaliznytsia” plans to further modernize suburban rolling stock, which has already served over 14.5 million passengers since the beginning of the year, a quarter of whom are beneficiaries,” the company added.

In total, over 14.5 million citizens have used suburban trains since the beginning of the year, of which about 25% are eligible for travel concessions.
