«Ukrbud» will not be sold to the Georgian businessman due to sanctions: new contender — «Techno-online» from Sumy

The State Property Fund of Ukraine did not approve the results of the auction for the sale of 100% of the shares of the state construction company «Ukrbud», as the winner of the bidding — Petro Oil and Chemicals, owned by Georgian businessman David Bejuaashvili, fell under the sanctions.

Disqualification of the winner due to sanctions

On June 30, the organizers of the privatization disqualified Petro Oil and Chemicals, which had offered 805 million hryvnias for «Ukrbud». The reason was a memo from the Department of Economic Security, which reported restrictions for auction participants in accordance with the privatization law. According to current legislation, buyers cannot be individuals or legal entities that are subject to special economic and other restrictive measures (sanctions), as well as related persons.

New potential owner — a company from Sumy

After the disqualification of the previous winner, the right to purchase «Ukrbud» passed to «Techno-online», registered in 2007 in Sumy. The main area of activity of this firm is wholesale trade in metal products, plumbing, and heating equipment. The beneficiary of the company is Marina Ayab.

If the deal is concluded, «Techno-online» will acquire an enterprise that includes 88 buildings, structures, and non-residential premises, as well as 17 land plots. In Kyiv, the company will be able to control 19 facilities with a total area of 27,159 square meters, as well as real estate in Lviv, Kharkiv, Odesa, and Dnipro.
