Ukrainian Stocks and Eurobonds Rise Due to New Peace Plan

Ukrainian financial assets are showing a confident rise amid news of a new peace plan initiated by the United States. The WIG-Ukraine index, which reflects the dynamics of Ukrainian stocks on the Warsaw Stock Exchange, increased by 2.43% on November 19-20 and added another 3.86% on Friday, November 21.

Dynamics of Leading Ukrainian Companies’ Stocks

The positive trend has affected the stocks of several Ukrainian companies. In particular, the shares of one of the largest sugar producers, Astarta, rose by 2.27%. Milkiland’s stocks showed the same dynamics. Significant growth was noted among agribusiness holdings: KSG-Agro increased by 6.7%, IMK by 3.64%, and Agrotone by 1.94%. Despite the suspension of mining operations due to the war, Coal Energy’s shares appreciated by 4.62%. The shares of the agribusiness holding Kernel, which is not included in the index, rose by 4.58%.

On the London Stock Exchange, Ferrexpo’s shares, one of the leading mining companies, added 3.56%. Meanwhile, MHP’s shares, the largest poultry producer in Ukraine, slightly decreased by 0.36%.

Growth of Eurobonds and Behavior of Global Markets

Ukraine’s eurobonds also continued to rise, adding an average of 0.9-1.6%. Some issues on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange managed to show an increase of over 4%. GDP warrants on the same exchange rose by 1.86% on Friday, reaching 90.2% of their nominal value. This is the highest level since the end of 2021, indicating an increase in investor confidence in Ukrainian assets.

The drop in energy resource prices occurred against the backdrop of optimistic expectations regarding a possible end to the war, with natural gas prices in Europe reaching their lowest values since May 2024, and oil quotations decreasing by 1.5%.
