The Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine struck a Russian military airfield located at Cape Khersones in the temporarily occupied Sevastopol. A video of the operation’s results was released on the Ukrainian military’s Telegram channel on March 16.

Strike on Enemy Targets in Crimea and Zaporizhzhia
According to military sources, over the past three days, Ukrainian forces have conducted attacks not only on targets in Crimea but also in the occupied part of Zaporizhzhia region. The exact dates of the operations are not disclosed for security reasons.
“A logistics base at the ‘Khersones’ airfield, a generator, and the enemy’s electronic warfare and electronic intelligence stations were successfully hit in occupied Sevastopol,” the military reported.
The command of the Special Operations Forces also reported precise strikes on several important military targets of the enemy in the temporarily occupied territories of Zaporizhzhia region. In Yakymivka, a base for repairing damaged armored vehicles was destroyed; in Andriivka, maintenance facilities and logistics supply warehouses were targeted; and in Berestove, a strike was delivered on the logistics center of Russian troops.
Reaction from the Russian Side and Consequences of the Strikes
Official representatives of Russia refrained from commenting on these events and did not report their losses or the extent of the damage inflicted. The Russian-appointed head of the occupied part of Zaporizhzhia region, Yevhen Balitskyi, only mentioned shelling of the region by Ukrainian forces but claimed that there were no casualties.
An independent verification of the information regarding the damage to the mentioned targets in the occupied territories is currently impossible.
Since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Russian regions and occupied territories have regularly been subjected to shelling and drone attacks. The Ukrainian side emphasizes that the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to strike at the enemy’s military facilities in the temporarily occupied territories and at targets within the Russian Federation to reduce the aggressor’s offensive potential.
