The potential of Ukraine’s defense industry could reach up to $60 billion by 2026. This was announced by the President’s advisor on strategic issues, Oleksandr Kamyshin, who noted that the government will present an updated export and joint production concept for weapons in collaboration with partner countries by December.

Preparation for Entry into the International Market
At the beginning of next year, a large-scale investment forum is planned to be held in one of the European countries. At this event, the government will present developed cooperation mechanisms to international allies. Currently, active preparations are underway for the infrastructure needed to launch the export of domestic weapons to the global market.
First Contracts and Export Support
The Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, Rustem Umerov, emphasized that defense exports have an inertial nature. According to him, real export contracts are expected no earlier than the second half of 2026, as it is necessary to undergo testing and certification procedures, as well as procurement processes in partner countries.
“The first offices to support exports will open in Denmark and Germany, followed by the USA and Global South countries.”
Entry into the international market will be accessible for all Ukrainian weapons manufacturers. However, of the more than a thousand defense companies operating in Ukraine, currently less than half are ready to meet all the necessary technical requirements for export. According to Oleksandr Kamyshin, the growth of production capacities will allow Ukraine’s defense industry to reach $60 billion by 2026, and controlled exports will be a key factor in financing the country’s defense needs.
