Ukraine Signs New Agreements with Slovakia and Australia for Infrastructure and Financial Development

Ukraine has concluded a series of important intergovernmental agreements with Slovakia and Australia, covering the areas of transport, finance, energy, and investment. During joint consultations, Kyiv and Bratislava agreed on a protocol to amend the existing Agreement on Border Crossing Points. The main goal of these agreements is to increase capacity, optimize railway connections, and ensure active participation of both states in European transport programs.

Expansion of Cooperation with Slovakia

In addition to the transport and infrastructure components, Ukraine and Slovakia signed several other bilateral documents. In particular, these include agreements on the exchange of information regarding labor mobility, mutual understanding concerning the placement of diplomatic missions, and a joint roadmap for further cooperation.

The Slovak side also provided Ukraine with an energy equipment package worth €500 million and additionally allocated €300,000 for the arrangement of shelters in educational institutions in frontline regions. Special attention was given to strengthening defense cooperation between the states.

Financial Support from Australia

Within the framework of the annual sessions of the IMF and the World Bank, Ukraine and Australia signed an intergovernmental Convention aimed at eliminating double taxation of income and preventing tax evasion. The new document is designed to create more favorable conditions for attracting Australian investments into the Ukrainian economy and stimulate the expansion of business activity between the two countries.
