Key Dates and Outflow Dynamics

The beginning of the week was negative for Bitcoin ETFs: on October 13, investors withdrew $326 million. Tuesday was an exception, as the funds recorded a net inflow of $102 million. However, the trend changed the following day, with $104 million withdrawn from the funds. The largest outflow was recorded on October 16, when capital from Bitcoin ETFs decreased by $536 million. The next day, this amount was another $366 million.

“Investors withdrew over $1.23 billion from spot Bitcoin ETFs from October 13 to 17, 2025. This is the second-largest weekly outflow in the history of such products. The worst dynamics were observed on October 16 — in just one day, the funds lost $536 million. The following day, another $366 million was withdrawn from them.”

The dynamics were unstable; however, a consistent outflow of funds was predominantly recorded, indicating a shift in sentiment among investors in the crypto asset market.

Ethereum ETFs Also Under Pressure

Not only Bitcoin funds suffered losses: spot Ethereum ETFs lost $311.8 million during the same period. The largest outflow occurred on Friday, October 13, when investors withdrew $428 million. A temporary improvement was observed at the beginning of the following week, when on Monday and Tuesday the funds received a total of over $400 million. However, starting Wednesday, the negative trend returned: on October 16, the outflow was $57 million, and on October 17, another $232 million.

It is worth noting that such a sharp capital outflow occurred immediately after a period of growth: from October 6 to 10, investors poured over $2.7 billion into Bitcoin ETFs and nearly $490 million into Ethereum ETFs. Thus, the market demonstrates high volatility and sensitivity to changes in participant sentiment.
