Ukraine has received the first $1.5 billion under the new four-year program of the International Monetary Fund within the Extended Fund Facility (EFF). This was announced by Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko on March 3.

First IMF Tranche: Program Details
The funds have already been credited and will be directed towards covering priority budget expenditures, as well as supporting macro-financial stability. The total volume of the program amounts to $8.1 billion. Svyrydenko emphasized the importance of this support for the country’s economy under current conditions.

Financial Support Since the Outbreak of War
Since the onset of the full-scale war, according to the head of the government, Ukraine has received a total of $14.9 billion in financial assistance from the IMF, which has helped ensure the sustainability of the state budget amid the armed aggression of the Russian Federation. The Prime Minister expressed gratitude to international partners for their trust and ongoing support.
Yulia Svyrydenko highlighted that the government continues to implement agreed reforms aimed at maintaining macroeconomic stability, strengthening state institutions, and furthering the move towards European integration.
It is worth noting that in February, the IMF Board of Directors approved a new four-year extended funding program for Ukraine amounting to $8.1 billion.
