In 2024, Ukraine spent $62,500 on lobbying in the United States, which is significantly less than Russia’s expenses, which exceed $460,000. This is evidenced by data from the Opendatabot portal, published on April 9.

According to the project’s calculations, Ukraine invested six times less in lobbying services in the US in 2024 compared to 2023. Since the beginning of 2022, the total amount spent on lobbying Ukrainian interests in the US has exceeded $5.4 million. Meanwhile, Russia spent $11.8 million on lobbying during the same period, which is 2.2 times more than Ukraine’s expenses.
Reduction in Lobbying Expenses
According to the analysis, other countries are also reducing their lobbying expenses. For example, Poland cut its funding for lobbyists in the US by five times, spending $245,200 in 2024.
“Russia, on the other hand, has reduced its state funding for lobbyists by 18 times, lowering its expenses to $461,200 in 2024. However, even after such a reduction, the Russian Federation still spends 7.4 times more on lobbying in the US than Ukraine, and almost twice as much as Poland,” the material states.
New Legislative Initiatives
In March 2024, President Volodymyr Zelensky signed a law regulating the lobbying market in Ukraine, which may impact future expenses in this area.
