Ukrainian Solutions for Middle Eastern Security

According to the Secretary of the National Security Council of Ukraine, Rustem Umerov, following a recent visit to the Gulf countries, the work of Ukrainian teams in the region has gained new momentum. They reported to President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky about the implementation of Ukrainian interceptor missiles to protect strategic facilities and ensure the safety of the population.

“The work is focused on two directions. The first is the use of Ukrainian technologies to counter aerial threats, particularly drone attacks. The second is consultations with partners regarding the assessment of the security situation and the preparation of practical solutions for air defense based on Ukraine’s experience,” Umerov noted.

Partnership and Next Steps

Umerov emphasized that Ukraine is defending not only its own sovereignty but is also actively cooperating with international allies to strengthen security beyond its borders. Currently, the priority is to enhance partnerships in the field of air defense, exchange technologies, and expertise with countries that support Ukraine.

It is worth noting that Ukraine previously participated in bilateral and trilateral negotiations in Geneva involving the USA and Russia. During these meetings, security issues and potential agreements were discussed. Umerov highlighted that they were able to clarify the positions of the parties and continue working on aligning key decisions.
