Ukrainian Drones and New Defense Developments

According to Fedorov, the issue of weapon exports and participation in the production of Ukrainian drones is actively being discussed with international partners. The President of Ukraine will soon present new products created jointly by Ukrainian enterprises and partner companies.

The minister cited the “Octopus” development, which is being jointly manufactured in Ukraine and the United Kingdom. A relevant commission has already been established to organize the export, the composition of which was recently approved by a presidential decree.

“Indeed, all partners are raising the issue of exports; everyone wants to participate in the production of Ukrainian drones. The President will soon announce new products created by Ukrainian enterprises and those of our partners. Today we talked about the ‘Octopus,’ which is produced in Ukraine and the United Kingdom. A commission responsible for exports has now been formed. Its (the composition of the commission – ed.) was signed by the President’s decree a few days ago. Essentially, a new process that has been approved will begin to operate in the coming days and weeks,” Fedorov said.

Production and Priorities for Equipping the Army

In response to questions about the volume of drone exports, Mykhailo Fedorov noted that making accurate predictions is currently difficult, and the relevant information will not be disclosed. However, Ukraine is focused on increasing the production of drones in 2026 and providing the military with modern drones.

The minister emphasized that, considering changes on the battlefield, certain categories of drones that were previously produced in smaller quantities will now be manufactured in larger volumes. Final production figures will depend on the level of funding for the industry.

Fedorov stressed that the primary task is to equip the Ukrainian army with the necessary equipment. Only after that will the export of surplus products be planned.
