Two elderly people were injured as a result of a Russian drone strike on a car in the Derhachi community

On the morning of May 30, Russian drones attacked two civilian vehicles in the Derhachi community in Kharkiv Oblast. This was reported by the head of the city military administration, Vyacheslav Zadorenko.

Shelling near the village of Pytomnyk

One of the incidents occurred near the village of Pytomnyk: a Russian FPV drone struck a car that was traveling along the highway from Kharkiv. Inside the vehicle were a 78-year-old man and a 77-year-old woman — a couple from Kharkiv who were heading to their summer house. Both sustained serious injuries and were hospitalized. Medical personnel are fighting for their lives.

“The car contained a 78-year-old man and a 77-year-old woman; they sustained serious injuries and were hospitalized. Medical staff are doing everything possible to save their lives,” Zadorenko reported.

Another shelling in Slatyne

At around 4:14 that same morning, another drone struck a car parked near a private residence in Slatyne. As Zadorenko clarified, at the time of the attack, there was no one in the car or near it, so casualties were avoided.

Russian troops systematically attack Ukrainian cities and civilian infrastructure using various types of weaponry — strike drones, missiles, aerial bombs, and multiple launch rocket systems. Such actions by the Russian Federation are classified by Ukrainian authorities and international organizations as war crimes with a targeted nature.

In particular, shelling of critical facilities, life support systems, medical institutions, as well as depriving the population of electricity, heat, water, and communication are considered signs of genocidal actions against the civilian population.

Despite this, the Russian leadership insists that during the full-scale war, it does not conduct targeted strikes on the civilian infrastructure of Ukrainian cities and villages, although the destruction of hospitals, schools, kindergartens, energy facilities, and water supply systems is evident.
