Mayor Andrey Kravchenko reported on the activity of air defense in the region. He urged the population to avoid open spaces and refrain from being in public places due to the heightened danger.

Later, the local operational headquarters confirmed that the alert system had been activated not only in Novorossiysk but also in the Slavyansky District of Krasnodar Krai, as well as in the cities of Gelendzhik and Anapa.

Traffic Restrictions and Consequences of Attacks

Traffic was partially restricted near the waterfront in the city, and later the restrictions extended to the direction towards Gelendzhik.

At the beginning of May, as stated by Ukrainian President Zelensky, Ukrainian forces struck tankers in the port of Novorossiysk.

Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, various facilities on its territory have regularly been subjected to air attacks. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has confirmed most of these cases, emphasizing that the Ukrainian Defense Forces “systematically implement measures aimed at reducing the combat potential of the Russian occupying forces and compelling the Russian Federation to cease its armed aggression against Ukraine.”
