The British Trade Remedies Authority (TRA) has decided to maintain anti-dumping tariffs on imports of welded pipes and pipeline products from China and Belarus for an additional five years.
This is reported by Finway
Reasons for the Extension of Restrictions
The TRA justified its recommendation by stating that the removal of existing tariffs could lead to renewed dumping and further harm to UK national producers. If the protective measure is lifted, the British industry would be threatened by non-competitive imports from these countries.
“The recommendation is based on the assessment that if this measure expires, dumping is likely to recur, as well as the harm caused to the UK industry.”
According to the decisions made, tariffs will remain at 38.1% for Belarusian exporters and 90.6% for all suppliers from China.
Importance for the Market and Industry
Welded pipes and pipeline products are key components in the UK’s manufacturing and logistics chains. They are widely used in heating and water supply construction systems. These products were the first to be subjected to anti-dumping measures transferred from the European national system following the country’s exit from the EU.
The TRA began reviewing the tariffs in January of this year, based on a submission made in October 2025. Following the analysis, it was concluded that protective tariffs remain necessary to support the competitiveness of domestic producers.
