The energy supply situation remains complex in certain regions of Ukraine. On the night of October 5, the Russian Federation carried out a massive strike on energy facilities, resulting in significant damage to the equipment of Zaporizhzhiaoblenergo. As a result, residents of Zaporizhzhia and the surrounding area were left without electricity.

Operational Situation in the Regions
According to the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine, a critical situation persists in Sumy and Chernihiv regions. In Chernihiv region, the enemy struck again, leading to the continued implementation of scheduled power outages. Local energy workers are actively working to minimize the restrictions. Currently, emergency recovery work is underway to restore electricity supply as quickly as possible.

Scale of the Attack and Consequences
On the night of October 5, Ukraine once again faced a combined attack from the Russian Federation. More than 50 missiles and around 500 strike drones were launched, including cruise missiles, Shahed-type drones, and Kinzhal missiles. The regions of Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Zaporizhzhia, Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Kherson, Odesa, and Kirovohrad were hit.
It is known that about 10 people were injured as a result of the shelling, and five people were killed. The Russians again targeted critical infrastructure that ensures the normal functioning of the population.
President Volodymyr Zelensky emphasized the need to increase protection and expedite the implementation of defense agreements, particularly regarding air defense systems, to effectively counter air terror.
