The Russian army launched 28 attacks in the Pokrovsk direction over the course of a day

During the day on April 23, 144 combat clashes were recorded along the front line in Ukraine. According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the fighting remains most intense in the Pokrovsk direction, where the Russian army attempted to break through the defenses of the Ukrainian forces 28 times.

Activation of hostilities in key areas of the front

The occupying forces of the Russian Federation conducted assaults in the areas of the settlements of Kucheryv Yar, Rodynske, Myrnohrad, Pokrovsk, Udachne, Nikanorivka, Kotlyne, Muravka, Molodetske, as well as in the directions of Kucheryv Yar, Bilytske, Myrne, and Novopavlivka. The Ukrainian defense forces are steadfastly holding their positions and repelling enemy attacks.

In the South Slobozhansky direction, the enemy attacked five times, particularly near the settlements of Zelenyi, Lyman, Bochkove, and Synelnykove. The Armed Forces of Ukraine are effectively resisting the invaders in the Kupiansk, Lyman, and Sloviansk directions.

Situation in other directions

In the Kostiantynivka direction, Ukrainian troops repelled 13 enemy attacks near Kostiantynivka, Pleshchiivka, Illinivka, Oleksandro-Shultyn, Sofiivka, and Novopavlivka. In the Oleksandrivka direction, Russian troops unsuccessfully attempted to improve their position eight times.

It was also hot in the Huliaipole direction, where 14 attacks were recorded in the areas of Dobropillia, Solodke, Staroukrainka, Varvarivka, Olenokostiantynivka, Zaliznychne, Huliaipole, and Zelenyi. In the Dnipro direction, the enemy attempted to storm the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine near the Antonivskyi Bridge and the Bilohrudyi Island three times, but all attacks were repelled.

“In the Pokrovsk direction, the enemy launched 28 attacks. The occupiers attempted to advance in the areas of the settlements of Kucheryv Yar, Rodynske, Myrnohrad, Pokrovsk, Udachne, Nikanorivka, Kotlyne, Muravka, Molodetske, and towards Kucheryv Yar, Bilytske, Myrne, and Novopavlivka,” the report states.

According to the General Staff, the enemy did not conduct offensive actions in the Kramatorsk and Orikhiv directions.

On April 15, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, reported that with the change in weather conditions, Russia significantly intensified its offensive operations along the entire front line, which stretches 1200 kilometers. The hottest areas remain the Oleksandrivka, Pokrovsk, Kostiantynivka, and Lyman directions.

At the same time, on April 17, the head of communications of the 7th Rapid Reaction Corps of the Air Assault Forces, Volodymyr Polevyi, reported that Russian troops are concentrating resources on the southern outskirts of Myrnohrad in Donetsk region and are using residential buildings as natural cover.
