The investment volume for the first phase of the plant exceeds 20 million US dollars. Production at the plant will include the manufacture of long fibers for textile products and technical fabrics, short fibers for paper products, insulation, and non-woven materials, as well as shives for bioplastics, building materials, and animal bedding. The company is already producing the first samples of products for its clients.
Last year, MaʼRijany Hemp Company planted 890 hectares of hemp, and in 2025 it plans to increase the area to 1,200 hectares, which is a record figure for Central and Eastern Europe.
This plant has become the first processing facility in the industry, which is recovering after the adoption of a law by the Verkhovna Rada in December 2023 that lifted the ban on the processing of technical hemp. Currently, the plant employs 200 people.
Additionally, the agricultural holding “Agrotrade” has expanded its area under technical hemp in the Chernihiv region by 100 hectares this year, bringing the total area to 330 hectares.
