Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko announced that the government plans to approve the composition of the supervisory board of the National Joint Stock Company “Naftogaz of Ukraine” next week. Completion of the competition and selection of candidates

The competition for the selection of members of the supervisory board of “Naftogaz” was announced by the Cabinet of Ministers in November. This followed the decision to conduct an audit of state companies due to the discovery by the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of a large-scale corruption scheme in the energy sector. As Yulia Svyrydenko noted, the interview stage with candidates for the supervisory board at “Naftogaz” has already been completed. The nomination committee is now determining the candidates to be submitted to the government for appointment.

“We expect the formation of the Supervisory Board of Naftogaz next week,” said Yulia Svyrydenko.

Audit of energy companies and personnel appointments

The Prime Minister also expressed hope that the state enterprise “Energoatom” would not delay the process of appointing a new head. She emphasized that the state audit at the company is ongoing, and interim results have already been submitted to the supervisory board of “Energoatom”. Svyrydenko noted that the supervisory board may involve an international auditor to enhance the transparency of the process.

At the end of January, the Cabinet of Ministers appointed a new composition of the supervisory board of “Energoatom”. Independent members have already signed the relevant contracts, and the first meeting of the updated supervisory board is scheduled for next week.

Overall, according to the Prime Minister, the audit is ongoing in 12 state energy companies.
