The Cabinet of Ministers has made a decision to allocate 8.4 billion hryvnias from the reserve fund of the state budget to ensure a stable heating season for 2025-2026. This was announced in an official government statement.

Funds Will Be Directed to the Purchase of Imported Gas
Funding will be provided to the company “Naftogaz of Ukraine” for the purchase of imported natural gas. This will allow for the formation of necessary fuel reserves before the winter period and reduce the risks of emergencies of a technological nature. The government emphasizes that these measures will contribute to the uninterrupted provision of heating to hospitals, educational institutions, and residential buildings even in challenging conditions of martial law.
“This decision will help avoid disruptions in heating supply, reduce the risks of technological emergencies, and support the stable operation of the energy system.”
Preparation for the Winter Period Continues
Vitaliy Kindraty, Deputy Minister of Economy, Environment, and Agriculture, emphasized that stable heating provision for citizens is a matter of national resilience. According to him, the government is ready to respond promptly to challenges and strengthen the energy security of the country. The Cabinet also noted that the decision will facilitate the timely accumulation of gas before the onset of cold weather and ensure the stability of critical infrastructure operations.
Additionally, the head of the board of “Ukrenergo,” Vitaliy Zaychenko, expressed hope that heating supply across Ukraine will be ensured within ten days from the start of the heating season.
