The Elevator Business in Southeastern Ukraine Faces Rapid Decline

The elevator business in the southeastern regions of Ukraine is experiencing a serious crisis. Experts note that the commercial market for elevator services in these areas is rapidly losing economic viability. Among the key reasons are unfavorable climate changes, declining yields of grain crops, and a decrease in demand for elevator services.

Impact of Hostilities and Market Concentration

An additional negative impact on the industry is the reduction of agricultural land due to proximity to the combat zone. Furthermore, the market is under pressure from the high concentration of elevator capacities controlled by major players, including international companies. In this situation, only large traders with sufficient resources to sustain trading activities can continue operations in the region.

“Most elevators in the southeast have completed their seasonal plans by only 30-50%, and that is their maximum.”

The Situation in Different Regions

According to experts, the elevator services market in Kharkiv region shows better dynamics compared to Dnipropetrovsk, Odesa, Zaporizhzhia, and Mykolaiv regions. This indicates that even within the southeastern region, the situation remains heterogeneous, and the prospects for business development depend on both external factors and local conditions.
