Tether Issues 2 Billion USDT on TRON in Two Days

Details of the USDT Issuance

On April 21, 2025, the Whale Alert platform reported that Tether replenished its reserves by 1 billion USDT. The following day, another 1 billion stablecoins were issued, which in total increased the company’s reserves by 2 billion USDT over the two days.

Tether’s CEO Paolo Ardoino also noted on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) that the volume of stablecoins based on TRON and Ethereum is currently authorized but not yet issued. These funds are intended for future issuance or swaps between blockchains.

At the time of writing, the market capitalization of USDT exceeds 145 billion dollars, and its market dominance is 61.75%, according to data from DeFiLlama. In early April 2025, it was reported that Tether plans to create a new stablecoin in case of restrictions in the United States.
