Response from Russian authorities and situation in other regions
The Russian Ministry of Defense stated that 155 Ukrainian drones were shot down over 12 regions, including over occupied Crimea and the waters of the Black Sea. As of now, there have been no official comments from Ukraine regarding this attack.
On the eve, sources in the Security Service of Ukraine reported a strike by Ukrainian drones on the “Samara” oil station in the Samara region. Additionally, in the Kursk region, a Ukrainian drone crashed in the yard of an apartment building, damaging the roof of the structure. The regional governor, Alexander Khinshtein, noted that 36 residents were evacuated.
Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Russia, airstrikes on various targets within the Russian Federation have been regularly recorded. In 2024–2025, the main targets remain oil refineries. Specific strikes are also carried out on Russian facilities in temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirms most of these attacks, emphasizing that the Defense Forces of Ukraine are systematically taking measures to reduce the combat potential of the Russian occupation forces and to compel Russia to cease its armed aggression against Ukraine.
