Sweden will provide Ukraine with direct budget support amounting to 200 million dollars, which will be allocated throughout 2026. This was announced by Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha.

Financial Assistance to Support Vital Sectors
According to Andrii Sybiha, these funds will be used to meet the daily needs of Ukrainians amid the war. In particular, the financing will be directed towards the functioning of public services, energy supply, medical care, educational institutions, pension payments, and other social needs.
Sweden’s Support and Leadership
The Foreign Minister emphasized that Sweden was one of the first countries to provide Ukraine with direct budget support. Back in August, the country financed Ukraine with 75 million dollars and is now continuing to demonstrate leadership by increasing its assistance.
“From the very beginning, Sweden has set an example for other countries. In August, it became the first country to provide 75 million dollars in such direct budget support, and today it reinforces its leadership with an additional contribution.”
The diplomat also highlighted the deep gratitude of the Ukrainian side to the Swedish government for its determination, consistent support, and unwavering solidarity with Ukraine during this challenging wartime period.
