Shutdown of the Druzhba Pipeline Due to Destruction of Pumping Station in Bryansk Region

The operation of one of the most important pipelines in the Russian Federation – the Druzhba pipeline – has been suspended following the destruction of the pumping station at the “Unecha” station in the Bryansk region. As a result of this incident, the transportation of Russian oil along several key export routes has been halted.

Destruction of Key Infrastructure

Satellite images published on social media confirmed the complete destruction of the “Unecha” pumping station building along with several auxiliary technical facilities and technological equipment. Reports indicate that the cause was the impact of Ukrainian drones, which triggered a large-scale fire at the site.

Satellite images documented the destruction of the pumping station at the “Unecha” station in the Bryansk region. This led to the shutdown of the Druzhba pipeline.

The Importance of the “Unecha” Station for Oil Exports

The “Unecha” station plays a strategic role in the logistics of Russian oil. It transports large volumes of raw materials to the Ust-Luga port, which is one of the main hubs for oil exports from the Russian Federation. Additionally, this station is responsible for pumping oil to Central European countries, including Slovakia and Hungary, which is crucial for the energy security of the region.

The shutdown of the Druzhba pipeline may negatively impact Russia’s export capabilities and the stability of oil supplies to European consumers.
