Satellite images from Planet Labs taken on March 11, 2026, indicate significant damage to the radar-transparent domes of Russian military radar systems in the area of the village of Uytne near Yevpatoria. The footage clearly shows the aftermath of the strike, which caused destruction to critical components of the facilities.

Damage to Modern Russian Air Defense Equipment
Reports indicate that a nighttime attack on March 9 targeted the locations of the “Nebo-U” and “Oborona-14” radar stations. It is known that “Nebo-U” is one of the most advanced and expensive Russian radar systems for air defense, with an estimated cost of around 100 million USD. “Oborona-14” is a modernized Soviet system still in use by the Russian army.
“The radar antenna of ‘Nebo-U’ has been knocked to the ground, and the station is non-operational. The ‘Oborona-14’ radar was not operational at the time of observation.”
A military expert from Crimea, a former Ukrainian officer and reserve lieutenant colonel, noted that detailed information about the types of radar located under the domes is known to Ukrainian intelligence. The importance of the damaged systems for the defense capability of Russian forces on the peninsula is also emphasized.
Russian Response and the Situation in Crimea
Official representatives of the Russian military have yet to publicly comment on the consequences of the strike on radar systems near Yevpatoria. Meanwhile, since 2022, the Crimean peninsula has been subjected to drone and missile attacks almost daily; however, the Russian Ministry of Defense and authorities often do not acknowledge damage or destruction of military facilities, even when these facts are confirmed by independent sources and satellite images.

The situation remains tense as strikes on Russian military infrastructure in Crimea continue, and their consequences are increasingly documented by independent observers and experts.
